Beer of the Week: Long Trail Double Bag

This beer out of vermont is a great beer to have this time of year. It is a German Altbier style. It pours an amber, copper color with a beige head. It’s smell is a breaded malty character with a hint of light fruit. No surprise with this beer, that is exactly how it tastes. Flavor is a little sweet with those bready malt flavors a hint of caramel, and a light fruit backround. At 7.2% it is a great beer and very easy drinking. The maltiness is a nice transition from the porters and stouts of the winter, with the light fruit notes moving into the lighter fruitier beers we enjoy in summertime. A great beer for anytime and highly reccommended.
