A to Z Wineworks
We have featured a couple of wines from A to Z Wineworks in our seminars, and you guys know how great they are. I am pleased (and that is an understatement) to tell you that we have received two very limited production wines just in time for Easter.
A to Z Riesling - an off-dry riesling with lime, tangerine, mineral and floral notes, they really knocked it out of the ballpark this year. It does...

Breaking the Wine Jargon Barrier
It seems to me, that lately, it is getting harder and harder to keep up with the new catchphrase, latest wine descriptor or, honestly, even wondering if you are supposed to like drinking a wine with a “bedrock of graphite structure”. Wine is a liquid right?
While I do appreciate the art of the written word, sometimes it’s just nice to know what a wine is all about without having...

We're Back!
Well, it has been awhile, but we are finally back on tumblr :)
I hope everyone had a great few months with the holidays. It was a crazy time, and a lot of fun, but I am happy to be back to a more normal pace these days.
With all this time on my hands, I’ve been doing some spring cleaning - out with the old and in with the new…new wine, that is. Over the next few weeks, we will have...

Wine of the Week
For Fourth of July, it is hard to pick one favorite wine to feature. While the heat leads to me to whites, the grill leads me to reds (wine lover problems). So in an effort to be fair, I am choosing red since white wine gets most of the summer time play. So without further ado, I give you:
Bacio Divino Pazzo
Pazzo is Italian for crazy - and I have to admit, looking at the label too long does...

Substance wines offer a fresh, hip and innovative way to experience the world of Washington!
An Albino form of pinot noir and the same grape as pinot grigio, pinot gris is characterized by its crisp, citrusy characterisitics. Richer than pinot grigio, it still reatins a nice mineral quality.

Single vineyard, 100% Viognier - this beautiful wine was fermented in neutral French burgundy barrels. Suave and focused - think spice, asian pear, with a hint of wysteria blossoms. A long deep vein of crushed minerals take it all the way to an excellent, long finish. This is why you should be drinking Viognier! -Charles Smith

Food for Thought
As I was browsing April’s issue of Wine Spectator, I re-read Matt Kramer’s article “Are We Special Yet?” The article addresses the common mindset of saving that special bottle of wine for that all too elusive special occasion. While this may be a well intentioned purchase, all too often that special occasion never quite comes upon us. There are exceptions to this, but they...

TGI(almost)F
Anyone else feel like running off and joining the circus lately? Or maybe you feel like you already have! Either way, we arethisclose to Friday. My advice this late in the game is this - have a glass (or two - no one’s judging) of Michael David’s Petite Petit. A blend of 85% Petite Sirah and 15% Petit Verdot. Just like the big top, this wine is large and imposing. Loaded with...

Beer of the Week: Long Trail Double Bag
This beer out of vermont is a great beer to have this time of year. It is a German Altbier style. It pours an amber, copper color with a beige head. It’s smell is a breaded malty character with a hint of light fruit. No surprise with this beer, that is exactly how it tastes. Flavor is a little sweet with those bready malt flavors a hint of caramel, and a light fruit backround. At...
